Lady in a blue dress...

I was so happy to get through Monday. Now it's Tuesday, and my day wasn't any better. Wednesday is sure to bring better days, right? Oh well.

It's hard not to smile when I look at this blue Michael Kors dress that I snagged at Nordstrom Rack. I spotted the dress, regular price $99.99. To my surprise, it was marked down to $19.99!! I tried it on immediately. I initially picked up the XL, but that was too big (I always go bigger and work my way down if needed), so I tried the Large. It worked! =D They had the dress in this amazing blue, navy, and black. I would have picked up the black one too if they would have had it in my size. I decided to pair it with my wonderful leopard shoes from Target. You will be seeing them in one more post that's soon to come. After that, I'm done with them for a while... I promise. ;)

Until next time...

I really appreciate you taking the time to follow, read and comment. Thank you so much. Don't forget to follow me via Twitter , BlogLovin and/or FaceBook

I wore the dress this past Saturday because The Wine-Oh's (see previous post) went to dinner at Manny's Steakhouse (food pics below) and had a grand old time.

Stripes, Leopard and Curves... Oh my!

Happy Saturday!! I swear, this workweek has worked me like crazy. I have such a love/hate relationship with for day workweeks, and long weekends. The long weekends are GREAT, but then you have the challenge of trying to cram five days of work into four. That drives me nuts. Anyhoo, on the the OOTN...

In my continuous attempt to try new things with my outfits, I'm dabbling in a little bit of pattern mixing. The pics aren't that great (I can't wait until spring for outside pics), but I did like the outfit. The stripes and leopard work well together. And let's not forget the shoes!! Love these babies that I picked up from Target! I've been wanting a leopard pair of heels and these hit the spot.

And the curves?!? While fabulous, I need to tone those bad boys down a bit. I still want them, just in a  smaller package. lol! Monday, I will be starting a version of the Weight Watchers program. I hope to see results. Anyone else tried the program? If so, did it work for you? Was/is it easy to follow?

Until next time...

We Like to Party...

Once a month, my girls and I get together to hang, eat and drink wine. We are the self dubbed "Wine-Ohs".

Backstory: One Sunday a few years ago, my sister in-law decided to throw a get-together. She invited quite a few people. But for whatever reason, three people (including my sis-inlaw) showed up. Myself, Regina, Shontelle and Angelique. We had a BLAST that night, and have been getting together once a month on average ever since. We even started a company at one time to invite others to hang with us and experience the good times that we have on a larger scale. That venture was short lived, but it sure was fun.

This past Friday night, we were invited to a good friends party. We showed up and showed out!! I wore my Old Navy striped dress (yes I'm posting it again). This was my first time wearing the dress out to party. It was perfect for my night out. Accessories were minimal and the fact that it's a one piece kept things simple, yet fashionable. LOVE IT STILL!! I don't have too many "good" pics, but I think the ones that I do have show how much fun we have when we're out and about. I love these ladies to death!

Until next time...

Shout out to Katie, who came to party with us!! She had a BLAST!! =D

I added this one because it's usually hard for all of us to get in one picture when we're out because one of us is usually the photographer. =D

Valentines Day Candy Gram Swap...

One more post before the night is over. Two in one day!!

Cynthia over at Adventures of Team Pancakes hosted a Valentines Day Candy-Gram Swap. I am always nervous about swaps, Secret Santa exchanges and stuff like that, but I always like to do them because they are so much fun!! I wanted to take a moment to thank Monica of Professional Student on the Go for my goodies!! Never mind that (with the help of my children) I ate the chocolate that WAS in the container. LOL!! I love everything that I received!! Thank you Cynthia for thinking of this great idea & for opening it up for participation!

Colors make me smile...

Happy Valentines Day!!! I hope everyone is having a great day/evening, no matter if you're loving yourself, or somebody else. ;)

Ever since I tried color-blocking, I've wanted to wear more color. I picked this sweater up around a month ago from Old Navy. It was on clearance for $2.47!! Now that's what I call a deal!! I normally would have passed this sweater up, but not this time. I picked it up and thought about what I would pair with it. My initial thought was to wear it with a tan tank underneath, and brown slacks/pants, or jeans. Very matchy-matchy, right??

After thinking about it for a while I thought, yea the sweater has this orange color, but why not put it up against another bright color. YELLOW!! Yea buddy! I love it! It made me smile when I saw the color palette. I also chose black pants instead of brown. I feel so proud of myself... Not matching and all. YAY ME! =D

Until next time...

Totally crossed out...

Hey!! So, today I was featured over at Consider Me Lovely for Rocquelle's YBIF series (see previous post). I started reading through all of the previous ladies that have been featured, and realized something. We all need to be there for each other. Reason #214 that I love blogging: Support.

On to the outfit of the day...

When hubby saw me buttoning up my shirt, he said, "What are you? Totally crossed out?" I cracked up laughing! LOL! Now for those of you who don't get the reference. There was a rap duo in the early 90's, Kriss Kross who wore all of their clothes backwards.

That was me with this outfit. My skirt wasn't on backwards, but my cardigan sure was! Let me start by saying that I saw this idea in the blogesphere. For the life of me, I can't remember where or who I got the idea from (I love to give credit where credit is due).  If it was any of you ladies, please let me know so I can thank you. You can't really see the color of the cardigan, but it's a pretty plum purple... Looks blackish in the pics. =(  Paired with my high-waisted pencil skirt, it was pure sexiness! =D It's not very often that I get to show my back. Not that I always want to, but there's just something about that V back there that I love.

**Please excuse my hair, as my roller-set/braidout was on its last legs** lol!

What do you ladies think of the backwards cardigan?

Until next time...

My Body is Fabulous!!

Yea, I said it!! lol! Well, I only said it because I was asked the question, "What makes your body fabulous?" Who asked, you ask?? The ever fabulous and inspriational Rocquelle over at Consider Me Lovely. Every Thursday, Rocquelle features a wonderful lady in her YBIF series. It's such a great thing to be able to uplift others, and I applaud her for that. I jumped at the opportunity to submit my entry, and was honored that she accepted and decided to include me. If you've never visited Consider Me Lovely, I urge you to head on over and take a peek. Submit an entry for yourself!! Rocquelle has a positive spirit, and great vibe and great style. She's the one who inspired me to try colored denim!! Her style constantly has me thinking outside of my own little box. Until next time...

Thanks again Rocquelle!! =D

Tulip dress

Happy Saturday!! It's been a long week. I haven't been feeling good at all. Being sick is just gross. I will spare you the details =D I'm feeling much better now, and I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm not really into the Super Bowl all that much, but I hope everyone who is has fun this Sunday.

I picked up the shoes in this post from Target strictly because the price was right. $8.98!! Have you ever done that? I mean, I walked through the shoe isles, saw the red tag, and stopped in my tracks! I wasn't sure what the color was. Hell, I wasn't even sure that I liked the color. I figured, at best I could probably just wear them with all black. I got them home and just threw them in the closet with the rest of my babies.

Last night, I went through my closet trying to find a dress to wear for a cocktail party then... BAM!! I spotted this dress in the back of my closet almost reaching for me. lol  I immediately thought of my new Target shoes. The dress is also a strange color, but I love the style of it. The bottom of the dress reminds me of a tulip. So feminine. I've only worn the dress once before, and I was hoping that I could still fit this bad boy. But, I knew the dress and shoes would go well together. I added a random belt in from my closet because I thought it added a little something. Until next time...

They look kind of greenish here, but look taupe-ish in person.
