Sweep the Floor...

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! I've been seeing comments and posts all over Twitter and Facebook about the heat that we're all feeling. You guys be sure to stay hydrated out there, and try to keep cool!

Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, on to the OOTD:

I love a maxi dress or skirt! Even on my 5'31/4" frame (I had to throw that .25 in there), I love them. I don't even mind if it sweeps the floor a little bit. Usually wedges, and/or a cute belt can take a little bit of length away if you so choose. This dress is a repeat offender on the old blog, as seen here. I took the dress down to a more casual level this time. Truth be told, I decided to wear this dress because I am completely sore from last nights boot-camp class, and could not bring myself to wearing something more complicated or fancy. Ha! And for that very reason I decided to wear flats as well. I was very comfortable, with minimal jewelry (it was too hot for all that mess), and I still thought I looked cute =D

I've mentioned in previous posts, and on Twitter that I'm trying to be a bit more health conscious as of late. I have since received a few questions about my workout regimen. So be sure to stay tuned because I have a blog post coming up specifically dedicated to what's been happening with me on the fitness front. I'm not at all where I want to be, but I'm working on it. I have an awesome group of ladies that I workout with and they keep me going. They will be featured as well, and I might even get a pic or two of the trainers who push us to the limit.

Until next time...

Enjoy the weekend!

Two for one...

For my 4th installment of the Big Fat Summer Challenge (click the link for the full challenge info) I wanted to "Wear a cropped top". I was nervous about this one, until I became inspired by Kim over at Naturally Fashionable. The idea to wear a high waisted bottom with the cropped top, was genius if you ask me! It made me much more comfortable with the whole concept. Thanks Kim!! =D This bottom also qualifies as my entry for #5, because its a maxi skirt. Done and done. Technically, I could make this a 6th entry as well because the skirt is high-waisted, but I won't because I have something else in mind for that. Stay tuned ;)

Now, in the spirit of being totally honest, I must say that I wasn't really feeling this outfit as a whole. The top and skirt came together nicely, but in my haste to wear my new shoes (don't judge me), I think I wore them prematurely with this outfit. I promised myself to have more control and do better next time.

Until next time...

LBJ...

Heyyy!! Happy almost Friday! First and foremost, I just want to thank each and every one of you for stopping by my little corner of the internet. Thank you for all of the sweet comments, the suggestions, for chatting it up with me on Twitter & for "liking" my Facebook page! You guys are phenomenal!

The title of the post stands for "Little Black Jumpsuit". It's my 3rd entry for the Big Fat Summer Challenge. This is my Wear Something Sleeveless installment.

I purchased this sexy lil number from Macy's. If you know me, you know it was on the clearance rack. I scooped it up for under $20, retail price $89!! I was a bit skeptical about the back of the jumpsuit. I've been working on my fitness lately, and I'm not quite where I want to be. But hey #YOLO (You Only Live Once, for all of my non-Drake fans), right! You can rest assured that this is one of those outfits that doesn't get worn unless hubby is right next to me ;)

Until next time...

That is not a safety pin on the back of the outfit. It's a silver clasp... I promise! =D

BFSC #2...

Happy Father's Day!! Hope you're having a good time celebrating all of the wonderful fathers that you come in contact with whether it be family or a friend.

This is installment #2 of the Big Fat Summer Challenge (click the link, or see my previous post for details). I'm crossing "Something You Wouldn't Normally Wear" off of the list. I've seen ladies rock heels with jean shorts all over the blogesphere. While I thought it looked super cute most of the time, I never saw myself doing it until this challenge.

I borrowed jacked the t-shirt from my hubby & the shorts are by Calvin Klein (which I didn't even know made plus sized clothes). I played it kind of safe by going with a low-key color palette, but nonetheless I did it!! Two down, eight to go!!!

Until next time...

Proud as a Peacock...

Hey peeps! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend as it is coming to an end. The weather has been perfect in Minnesota. No complaints here!

Can I just tell you how much I'm loving this dress though?! It's so breezy, and light weight. The wind carried this dress every which way, and I was fine with letting it flow. And the peacock print?! Love it!!! I bought the dress from Target about a year ago (on clearance of course) for around $11. It's a size 16, so it was one of those pieces that I snagged in hopes of fitting it one day. I do that from time to time. I know that's bad to do, but I couldn't resist. Sue me. This was my first time wearing it. YAY for Boot-camp! =D

Until next time:

I will be entering this dress as the first installment of the Big Fat Summer Challenge over at Jasifer Lions Club. The "Hi-Low"look is checked off the list! Go check it out! Super fun, right?!

P.S. I'm saving the short shorts and the two piece bikini for last. I need to get more boot-camp classes under my belt =D

Weekend Girl...

It's the weekend baaaaaaaabyyyyyyy!!! I love weekends. They're perfect because you get to sleep in, cook breakfast(sometimes), go shopping, hang around... just whatever tickles your fancy. Enjoy.

I wore this outfit yesterday to hang out with some friends & family. It was the perfect evening for grilled kabobs and drinks on the deck. You may be getting a little tired of my jean jacket, but I'm not! LOL! I love this thing. I'm currently on the hunt for a new one, or a jean vest. I guarantee, you will be sick of those two once I have them in my possession **insert evil laugh**. Moving on... there are a few things that I would like to point out.

1. New hair!!! I went yesterday and sat in a chair for 6 hours and got my hair twisted (kinky twists). I like them a lot! They'll just take some getting used to.

2. My white cropped pants (from Marshalls) are a size 16! When I bought them, they were a little tight. I had hopes that they would eventually fit. I tried them on yesterday, and BOOM!! They fit perfectly. I have to give credit to the fact that I haven't eaten ANYTHING sweet in 3 weeks, and I haven't had one drop of pop for that same amount of time. I've also been exercising. I'm taking it week by week y'all.

3. Last but not least, the star of the show... My shoes!! I went into Target and these nautical babies just reached for me. From afar, I didn't know what the price was, but I knew they would be coming with me. I got them in my hands, and to my surprise they were marked clearance at $7.48!! These shoes are so cute and comfy.

Until next time...

PS, I promise that my white tank isn't dingy. The coral tank underneath is causing the "off-white" look.
