About Me

My photo
Hi! I'm Shanticka. My blog is about any and everything that I want it to be. Me, my family, work, personal style, friends, etc. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy getting to know me. Live, in living color.

Block me... Better late than never

I've never tried the color blocking trend. No need to say it!! I know I'm late for this. The only time I color blocked, was with my FANTABULOUS Old Navy striped dress, and that was sort of cheating. All the work was done for me, and I wasn't even trying! Also, I've never tried colored jeans.

While reading one of my favorite blogs, Rocquelle of Consider Me Lovely did a post rocking her colored jeans and asked her readers, "Are you into colored denim?" I've seen them all around, and I thought they looked nice one everyone else. I must admit that I was a little intimidated by colored denim due to my more robust bottom half. I basically thought I would have to sit this trend out. =(

This is one of the reasons why I love blogging! I'm able to grab style inspiration from others. Real women, with real style.  Because of Rocquelle's question, I wanted to try the colored denim for myself. And here you have it... Both things that I have never tried going on in this post, AND I like it!!

 Until next time...

  17. Shantika, the colors you chose were perfect!

Re: the color blocking trend, it's funny! As a kid that was how I would dress--solid colors, minimal prints. It's funny how trends are cyclical they keep returning.

    More Modern Modesty

  18. OMG i've been looking for plus size blue jeans 4 ever. I will check out old navy ASAP. I hope their fit works b/c the ones I bought from torrid fit horribly! :( I love you blog!

  19. Quick question, I hope you can answer me. Are the Old Navy cobalt blue pants stretch from the top? I'm big on my stomach area and I need pants that are stretchy from the top area to avoid a muffin effect :P I read they were like jeggings, but I just want to make sure before I ordered them.

Also, did you alter them from the ankle area? I heard they came big from there...

I really hope you can help. I hateeee ordering online but I'm willing to take the risk for this color jeans :-)

    1. Hi Ale... To be perfectly honest, these jeans/jeggings (the Rock Star line) do not have a lot of stretch in them. You may have to go up a size with this particular brand. For example, if a person is usually a size 16, but can sometimes wear an 18, I would suggest going with the 18.

As far as the ankle part, I did no altering. They fit me fine there.

    2. Thank you so much for the info. It is really helpful!

  20. You colour block beautifully, my dearest friend

  21. Girl you're wearing those pants! They look amazing on you. Like they were made for you.

    With Class & Sass,

  22. I love this color palette.. Very cute... You make me want to go out and get some colored skinny jeans, although skinny jeans never fit me because of my calves (thank god for jeggings!)...but anyway, back to you, very cute outfit indeed. Love this combination together...!!

    Also thanks for commenting!!

  23. The color combination is sublime, and I love the peek of tan going on under the sweater. A burst of sunshine in the winter time. You look so pretty here!!
