Style Challenge... Day 2

Ok, so I am beyond frustrated with the lack of light when I get home. More now that I'm blogging than ever before. Ugh! Is it bad that I want to leave work early so I can come home and take pics? lol! I wasn't going to post the pics of this outfit because they are so crappy, but since Momma didn't raise no punk, I decided to do it anyways. Today, I decided to put brown together with black again. I'm really starting to like that color combo. I added my cheetah belt for a touch of print. I must say, even though the pics didn't turn out good, I felt fab when I left the house this morning, and got lots of compliments at work about how "sassy" I looked. =D Until next time...

Style Challenge...

Fellow blogging Diva Toni over at Pretty Dark Girl Style thought of a style challenge for the month of November, and invited others to join in on the fun. I was more than happy to get in on it! This week is the "Wear a skirt" challenge. Here's my take on it. Side note: Please excuse the wrinkles... Sometimes I look better at the beginning of my day, than at the end :D

I promise, there's not a stain on my skirt.

I must also add that this skirt has been transformed from a white dress. I dyed it about a year ago because I wore it to a White Party a while back & I figured I would never wear it again in white. Sorry for the blurry pic, but I'm proud of myself for remixing this bad boy! Can you tell from the pics above and below that I LOVE the pockets!

Thank you!!!

I just want to express my thanks to everyone who takes the time to stop by to view/read my little blog. And a special THANK YOU goes out to those who have decided that I was worthy enough to be "followed". I love reading the wonderful and encouraging comments that you leave, and I look forward to every one of them. I haven't been doing this for long, but I have grown to love blogging about my personal style, watching my style evolve, and getting inspiration from others. I have received so much love/support from fellow bloggers... veterans as well as newbies like myself. I hope to continue doing this for the long haul. I also hope that you will continue to visit. Until next time...

Tights!!

I had a nice laid back weekend. The weather was great (for November in Minnesota), and I just chilled. Went all weekend without posting. I can honestly say that I don't usually have an outfit worth posting on the weekends. I may have to change that.

I never wear colored tights. Not that I thought anything was wrong with it, I just never do. There's a blog that I frequent, itsmytaste. The lovely Corie is really stylish, and I love that she does her own thing. I read a few entries where she discussed her colored tights and I've been inspired ever since.

Not only did I wear colored tights, I did something else that I was taught never to do. I paired tights with peep-toed shoes! I don't know who told me or when. I just knew that it shouldn't be done. I've seen it done in the blog world, and at first I thought... "What are they doing? You're not supposed to do that!!" Then I thought, "Says who?". Fashion/style is you. Do what makes you feel comfortable and own it. I'm learning that more and more with each entry. And wouldn't you know? It's my favorite part of my outfit! Until next time...

Holy wrinkles, Batman!!

Caught the light...

Got home before the sun could go down today! This OOTD isn't special at all, I just like how it fits.  I wore my Gap Outlet pants that I love. They are just the right length for my vertically challenged legs. Which is hard to find, unless I go for petite sizes, which doesn't always work for my thickness =D. I can't wait for tomorrow. First and foremost, it's the start of the weekend... but it's also "Casual Friday" at work. It seems as though I can put together better dressy-type outfit choices for work when I know I don't have to get dressed up. Weird, but true. Until next time...

Houston, we have a problem...

Today was my first day of officially trying to take pics in the evening as it's getting dark. From the pictures below, you will see that this went completely wrong. I was all geared up to explain my outfit. How I was told to never wear black and brown together because the colors are too close. And how I  said "FORGET IT" and wore them together today... and liked it! My camera, and the light outside were not havin it. Oh well.

Because the pictures don't show correctly, I have to explain. I have on a black cowl neck sweater dress, with a brown braided belt and brown faux suede boots. My favorite part of my outfit is the piece that I only wore for a few minutes, and that's my trench coat. This was one of my best purchases from the Old Navy Outlet. A mere $13.99!!! I really have to get this picture taking together for the upcoming season. I'm open to any tips!! Until next time...

Gone for a minute...

Again, it feels like forever since I've posted. Ugh! As the days get shorter, it feels like I should be in bed with pj's on sooner. I have to get used to blogging as the seasons change. OAN: I'm so excited that Thanksgiving is coming. I'm so ready for some good eatin! Just greedy! =D

On to the OOTD. I don't own a lot of animal print, but apparently, it's HUGE this season. I have a leopard print dress that I wore once for a nice dinner out with hubby, and I haven't worn it since. This pic was taken last winter.

I have a cheetah corset that I wore to a Masquerade Ball. Again, I haven't worn it since. This pic was taken two years ago.

And now, I have my new cheetah print belt. This belt is my introductory to animal print for every day wear. I picked it up from Walmart (yea, I said it!!) for $2.00!! I really like it too. It's my favorite part of todays outfit. I'm also proud of myself for wearing/owning my very first pair of skinny jeans. I really didn't think that I could get in on this trend because of how short & chunky my legs are (when I was little I wanted my Granny's legs, and now I have them), but hey... I think I look pretty good in the jeans. Chunky and all. Until next time...
